How To Care For The Environment

How To Care For The Environment

There are many activities that humans do which harm the environment around us. As the environment gets polluted, its negative effects will mostly impact humans. It will trigger the spread of many diseases and create unfavourable conditions to live in. It is the duty of each individual to do their part in caring for the environment.

It is our responsibility to save this environment for future generations. Of course, with the level of pollution that is present today, big measures especially by large co-operations and governments, calls for action. But as an individual yourself, you can also create an impact by doing or not doing simple things that as a collective effort makes all the difference in the world.

Waste Can Be Recycled

Most waste we create gets accumulated or burnt. Accumulation of waste takes up space and releases toxic gases into the environment. While burning causes damage to the ozone layer surrounding earth contributing to global warming. In order to prevent these outcomes, alternative methods of garbage disposal have to be sought after.

For example, recycling. There are two main types of waste; one is biodegradable products and other non-biodegradable products. Biodegradable products would be like food waste and paper, while plastic and polythene would be non-biodegradable. Biodegradable items are recycled by using such waste for compost and other products.

Making compost of such product enriches the soil. While non-biodegradable waste is recycled by re-shaping or reusing these waste in different manners to avoid making newer products out of these materials. Thereby the demand for objects made of these materials is reduced. For example, BSV play their part in recycling well because they use old tyres to make rubber crumbs.

Save Electricity And Water

Electricity and water are the two most important resources for all human beings. It is nearly impossible to live without either as it has become such a huge part of our life. But we should not be taking these for granted. Turn off all electrical appliances if they are not being used. It could be as simple as switching off the lights when you leave a room.

Use energy-efficient light bulbs so that relatively less energy is used than normal light bulbs. Use of air conditioners and heaters should not be done unnecessarily. Likewise, water should be saved as well. Turn off the tap in between brushing teeth. Do not let the water go running for no reason. If there are any leaks or if the water bill is not compatible with usage, then have a professional plumber to take a look and correct any defaults in the system.

Use Public Transport

This might not sound like the most practical idea but whenever possible try to use public transport instead of your own vehicle. The emissions that are released from vehicles are so harmful to the environment. It might be inconvenient at first but with time you will get used to it. It is better to suffer a little bit of inconvenience at the cost of saving the environment.
